Welcome to Mennus ("we," "our," or "us"). Mennus is a digital menu Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) platform built for specialty cafes and restaurants to create, host, and manage their digital menus, table reservations, and traffic analytics. We operate the website mennus.com and related services (collectively, the "Service").
This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, process, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our Service. This Policy applies to:
- Cafe Owners/Operators ("Customers"): Individuals or entities registering accounts to create digital menus, manage bookings, and view analytics.
- Cafe Guests ("End Users"): Individuals scanning QR codes to view hosted menus or submitting table reservation requests.
2. Data We Collect and Process
We collect only the minimum necessary information required to deliver the Service.
A. For Cafe Owners/Operators (Customers):
- Account Information: When you register, we collect your email address via Supabase Auth.
- Cafe Profile: Cafe Name, unique Slug (URL identifier), and plan tier (Starter, Pro, Business).
- Cafe Assets: Cafe Logo URLs, menu category names, menu item details (names, descriptions, pricing, availability, and item image URLs). These are stored securely in Supabase Database and Storage.
- Communication Data: Feedback or support queries sent to our team.
B. For Cafe Guests (End Users):
- Table Reservations: When you request a booking, we collect your Name, Phone Number, Party Size, Reservation Date, Reservation Time, and any optional notes. This data is collected solely to transmit to the respective Cafe Owner so they can review and manage your reservation.
- Traffic Analytics: When you view a digital menu or item, we increment a counter and log a menu view or item view event tied to the Cafe ID and timestamp. This analytics data is entirely anonymous. We do NOT collect IP addresses, device identifiers, User-Agent strings, or place persistent tracking cookies.
3. Subscription Billing
All upgrades and subscription renewals for paid tiers (Pro, Business) are handled manually. Mennus does not collect, store, or process credit card numbers or financial details on the platform. All billing inquiries and requests are routed through support@mennus.com.
4. AI Menu Scanner and Subprocessors
Mennus utilizes the following subprocessors to facilitate operations:
- Hosting & Infrastructure: Supabase, Inc. (providing database storage, authentication, and file hosting).
- AI Menu Extractor: When a Cafe Owner uploads a menu file (image or PDF) for automatic scanning, the document data is sent to the Google Gemini API (operated by Google LLC) to extract structured menu categories and prices. No personal data or guest data is transmitted to Google APIs.
5. Cookies Policy
Mennus is a cookie-free platform for Cafe Guests. We do not use tracking cookies, analytics pixels (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Pixel), or cross-site tracking beacons on digital menu pages. We use only session-based local state essential for system operations.
6. Data Protection Compliance
Mennus is committed to respecting user and guest privacy rights under applicable jurisdictions:
- Egypt: Processed in compliance with Law No. 151 of 2020 (Personal Data Protection Law).
- United Arab Emirates (UAE): Processed in compliance with Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on Personal Data Protection (PDPL).
Owners and guests have the right to access, rectify, or request deletion of their personal data. Requests can be submitted to our support team or handled directly via the Cafe Owner's admin dashboard.
